As a Co-Founder and President of a minority owned multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm (MEL, Inc.),
Mr. Morgan Watson joins our organization with expertise within many industry specific arenas.
He has over 40 years of engineering experience, primarily in private practice and academics, and holds B.S. (1966) and M.S. (1971) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University and LSU respectively. Morgan has served in various technical and administrative capacities during his many years of experience as a professional engineer. He has served as Project manager on projects performed for the Corps of Engineers (four (4) districts, plus the Huntsville Division) since 1978, responsible for client liaison, contract negotiations, project administration, and technical review. Under his direct supervision over 2,100 surveys of various types were performed, over 225 construction inspectors to observe construction at over 130 sites were provided and approximately 36 design and drafting support projects were performed, all for the Corps of Engineers. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Southern University, and is very active in professional, religious, civic, and community organizations throughout the state of Louisiana and nationally.
